I believe there are two types of consumers, brand loyalist, and general consumers. A brand loyalist orders from a website because they believe in the companies vision, values and the product that they are producing. A general consumer is looking for a certain product but doesn't let brand name affect their buying behavior.
I recently ordered phone skins from dbrand.com (I know their website is not on Shopify 😢). I have been following them on Twitter and Instagram for a long time now and finally got around to ordering from them. Everything from their Twitter account interactions to their ads are executed in a unique way. FYI their whole business is run by robots (obviously a cool marketing plan). They have a simple ordering process and $1 shipping everywhere in the world, which can be done since the product they sell weighs less than an ounce. After finalizing my order I was emailed tracking and the waiting game begins. Tracking stated that it would take up to 72 hours to update, which in my opinion is a little long. I watched tracking like a hawk noting every move.......maybe I'm over excited about a few little phone skins!
My order showed up in my mailbox 5 days later. It was packaged in a mailer with a custom design which made it stand out from the other mail thrown on my table. Opening it up I found the skins for my iPhone 7 and a card that stated to go to their website to see how to apply the skins. They have a really cool tutorial on how to apply the skins. The final product looks like.
I really wrote this so that people can see how there are many phone skin brands out there but you can still make yourself stand out by being different.
