Are you a brand loyalist to shipping providers? Seriously, do you really care who delivers your package as long as it's on time and not broken? I have seen many website where you get to the checkout page and they bombard you with shipping options. My brain goes into overload, the paradox of choice is in full effect. Now I'm thinking "Do I spend the extra 50 cents to get it here a day earlier or should I go all out and spend $25 to use DHL DIRECT HOME DRONE DELIVERY ASAP WITH SIGNATURE FROM PARENT OR GUARDIAN". Okay I made that last one up but come on do we really need this many options? USPS, Fedex, UPS, DHL all have specified delivery dates which prompts the question again, does it really matter who is handling your goods as long as it gets there on time. You might have been told that the UPS contract you signed was the best deal on the block but in reality, you want to compare all the services and get the best option based on the time it takes to deliver.
I highly recommend limiting the amount of shipping options you show your customer so they don't get overwhelmed.
Three shipping options:
- Standard (2-5 days)
- Priority (1-3 days)
- Free Shipping (for orders over a certain amount)
Also enable carrier calculated shipping so you know that you are always covering your costs.
